Grey Jacks is a BMI Award winning songwriter, working as a solo and collaborative artist living in Washington, DC. His band the Grey A was formed in 2014, releasing their debut 12 song album My Country the same year. available for sale on Bandcamp and Itunes. ; )

D8 Ur Elders is the band’s sophomore release. One theme of the record centers around Grey’s five-year relationship with a two decades older partner, who he married in 2020. On September 6th of 2021 the first single Providence was released, and the song tells the story of their meeting and falling in love over a 4 year period.

I CAN’T WAIT” will be the bands 2nd single and features artist Angelica Garcia. Additional standout tracks include Palladium, Wrecked, and the award winning Jump the Wall (ft. Angelica Garcia).

Raised in Dallas, TX then reared as a teenager in the Washington DC area, Grey was homeschooled by his mother up thru high school. He started college at JMU School of Music before moving to the Murfreesboro/Nashville area, which remained home for 10 years. Grey played lead guitar and keys with the Nashville Tennessee indie-rock powerhouse Glossary from 2000-2005, joining them on their 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums. The band toured throughout half the country, including sets at SXSW and CMJ and toured with Centro-matic

After returning from 3 months living in Zurich, Grey worked four years for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, occasionally running into Emmylou, Porter and Charlie at Medallion Ceremonies or the employee lunch table. In 2006, working with close friends, Grey musical directed and played Skszp in Hedwig and the Angry Inch! This was the 1st ever staging of Hedwig in Tennessee and it was performed at Nashville’s legendary EXIT/IN and Murfreesboro, TN’s Wall$treet and Grand Palace. Grey was also very involved in the founding years of the Southern Girls Rock and Roll Camp, Tennessee Teens Rock Camp and New York Rocks Camp, both as the camp’s Showcase Director and as a volunteer instructor, - teaching vocals, keyboards, guitar, screen printing, songwriting and DIY arts and crafts.

Grey returned to the city of Washington, DC in early 2009 and launched the Grey A in 2014 with the release of his indie star studded, Nashville produced record My Country. Some of the albums performers include guitarist William Tyler, Little Bandit’s Alex Caress and Pony Chase’s Jordan Caress with many others. Grey’s East Coast based band the Grey A features Howard Rabach on bass, and are regularly joined by Kevin Dudley on lead guitar, Valeria Stewart on vocals and guitar. Grey and the band perform regularly around the US of A. The album My Country is available online and for sale here on this site, with tracks listenable on Spotify.
